Grace & Brendan | Wildwood Kangaroo Valley Wedding

After photographing their glorious lovebirds session a few weeks prior to their wedding, I knew that Grace and Brendan’s upcoming wedding would be packed with personality, special family moments, and oh so much fun and laughter.

So the big day arrived… and with it came the rain. It might just go down as one of my soggiest weddings ever, not torrential but a constant drizzle persisted throughout the day and we were shooting for part of the day in a rainforest. Well let’s say it was wet indeed, but the show must go on. Grace & Brendan were absolute troopers and didn’t let anything deter them. Grace even refused an umbrella from her Dad during the ceremony, preferring to embrace the elements, and enjoy every aspect of the day.

The result was a beautiful wedding that was deeply personal and thoroughly romantic. Apart from the beautiful venue styling, created by the couple themselves, one of the most unique parts of the reception was the inclusion of the German tradition of Baumstamm Sagen. Using a long, two-handled saw, the couple must work together to cut a log in two. The log represents the first obstacle that the newly married couple must overcome together within a lifetime of inevitable future obstacles.

Congratulations on a beautiful wedding Grace & Brendan.

P.s. If you want to check out more of these two lovebirds – check out their pre-wedding photo session.
