Vanessa & Scott | The Woods Farm Wedding

It was certainly a unique set of circumstances that brought Vanessa and  Scott together. Born on opposite sides of the world – Vanessa in Germany and Scott in rural NSW – it was life altering accidents early in their lives that set their paths on a course that would ultimtely see their lives intertwine.

When Scott was 12 years old he lost one of his legs in a farm accident, while Vanessa lost both of her legs at the age of 15 through an accident. Both were determined to live their best life and found their calling through sports. It was through the Paralympic community that the two met and went on to fall in love. Today they are both Paralympian Medalists in their own disciplines – Scott in the 100m and Vanessa in long jump.

These two prove that anything is possible if you work hard enough and believe in yourself. Vanessa and Scott are truly the most remarkable, and lovely couple. It was such fun, and such an honour, to photograph this wedding. It’s not often you walk into a room where the bride is getting ready and she tells you with a laugh that her legs are “over there while the nail polish dries”!
